Stieg Larsson, currently renowned all over the world for writing International Bestsellers ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’, ‘The Girl Who Played With Fire’ and ‘The Girl With the Hornet’s Nest”, was a journalist in Sweden who wished to expose extremist and racist organizations in Sweden with his magazine – Expo. However, he received all this praise and fame posthumous as he died in November 2004 just after delivering all of his work on the three novels earlier that year. Aging just fifty at the time of his death, Larsson’s three book series has sold more than a million copies in the US alone and sold several times more around the world in the last five years.

The third book is currently enjoying its 21st week in the top five of the New York Times best seller list. The books are centered on two main protagonists - Lisabeth Salander or “The Girl” who has a complicated and twisted past, marvelous hacking abilities and the dragon tattoo. The other protagonist is Mikael Blomkvist who is a middle age journalist running an expose magazine called Millennium (one can see where the inspiration of this character came from). The novel shows the team of Salander and Blomkvist using their valor and skill to fight or expose sex offenders, government official’s gone bad and corporate criminals (not forgetting the people hired by these people).

The books are well written which is a major feat considering each of them is over five hundred pages and the size can easily challenge all the books in the Harry Potter series.
