The organizers of Wills India Fashion Week, FDCI or Fashion Design Council of India, desired to start their event after all the noise of CWG has been cleared as they didn’t want any hangover of the games at their fashion events. Moreover, they also desired to ensure that the event is done over with before the Diwali week begins but it looks like they forgot one crucial holiday that comes in between – Karva Chauth. This event is celebrated by women all over the country who keep fast and pray for the long life of their husband. This year’s karva chauth falls on 26th October which has affected the schedule of the fashion week as there are plenty of married women there too.
The FDCI has tweaked the shows which were going to happen on Tuesday and shifted them to someday else. Designers Muzaffar Ali and Meera’s show were supposed to be scheduled for 8.15 pm on 26th October but when the FDCI realized that the festivities might make it difficult for the show to happen they have shifted it to the final day. Now, the show is going to happen just before the grand finale show.
This doesn’t state that there wouldn’t be any show as the FDCI has just cancelled the 8.15 slot and there would be a two hour gap between the 7 pm slot and the 9.30 slot to give the women plenty of time so that they can break their fast. The models can particularly rejoice as their fast won’t be affected by their demanding schedule and vice versa.
