In Kabul, eastern Afghanistan, a suicide car bomber blew up a little clinic, Abbarkhail Public Medical Center, which caused the building to cave in. The clinic mostly had children and women lined up for maternity care, vaccinations and other medicinal services. According to reports, thirty five have been found dead in one of the most dangerous civilian attacks this year.

According to the guards, they had seen a utility vehicle (sports van) charge towards the center. This center provides health care and other services for the people living in the mountainous region in the constituency Azra of Logar district. However, before anything could be done about the car the SUV had smashed into the center wall and then exploded. Taliban released a statement in which they denied their involvement in the Saturday’s blast – understandingly wary for being blamed for casualties to the civilians in the area. Zabiullah Mujahid was the spokesman who told The Associated Press that Taliban had nothing to do with the attack.

This sort of aggression has been rising since the launch of the Islamic movement which had promised vengeance for the death of Osama bin Laden, former Al-Qaida leader. The blast survivors inside the center and the people who had heard the explosion started digging the debris with bare hands and shovels. According to latest reports, thirty five dead bodies were taken out of the rubble while more than fifty others have been found wounded. This information was conveyed by Dr. Mohammad Nayebkhail, the public health director of that province.
